Description
Nederlands: Wie aan de zuidkant de Wilnisse wijk Veenzijde IIIa binnenkomt, wordt verwelkomd door een meer dan twee meter hoge bronzen cactus, in een rode stenen pot. Hij staat midden op een rotonde, en wenkt de bezoeker als het ware de wijk in. De cactus staat in Zuid-Amerika vaak als plant bij woonhuizen. Hij symboliseert veel goeds: gastvrijheid, voorspoed, vruchtbaarheid en bescherming. Voor veel mensen is het een heilige plant. Vaak wordt hij San Pedro genoemd, naar Petrus, die de poortwachter van de hemel is.
