Author quoting: We went shopping at the Queen Victoria Markets in the morning and came home laden with porterhouse and fillet steaks, lamb cutlets, salmon cutlets, which were grilled with Julia's preserved lemon and oregano marinade, and the freshest asparagus you could imagine! Ning got juicy sweet corn from Box Hill which we grilled on the barbie as well. Oh don't forget the kilo of freshly cooked prawns and the antipasto, including grilled red capsicums, artichokes and Ligurian olives! All washed down with fresh orange juice from the market and Liebichwein 2002 Potter's Merlot. We couldn't go past the sweet, ripe and magnificently fragrant mangoes that are just coming into season. (not shown) We also got a fantastically ripened King Island Double Brie and a King Island Surprise Bay Vintage Cheddar. (not shown) Suffice to say, we over-ate, again!" |
