Deutsch: Ihr Name steht wohl im Zusammenhang mit der Sagengestalt der Perchta, die allerdings ihrerseits eine ungeklärte Herkunft hat. Eine Theorie zur Namensgebung geht davon aus, dass sich der Begriff von mittelhochdeutsch berchttac, berchtnacht, dem mittelalterlichen Wort für den Feiertag der Erscheinung des Herrn (Epiphanias), heute das Dreikönigsfest am 6. Januar, herleitet; mittelhochdeutsch bercht bedeutete ‚glänzend‘, ‚leuchtend‘.
In Altaussee gibt es daneben auch Pelzperchten (Bärigln)[8]. Am 5. Januar ist der so genannte Glöckötåg (Glöcklertag). Am Abend (ca. 17h) findet auf einem zentralen, meist tief verschneiten Feld im Dorfzentrum ein symbolischer Kampf der den Frühling repräsentierenden, laut läutenden „Glöckler“ mit den Bärigln (Pelzperchten) statt, die den Winter repräsentieren. Die Glöckler versuchen den Winter "auszuläuten" die Perchten wehren sich vehement dagegen wodurch ein wilder Kampf entsteht. Um Mitternacht ist der Spuk dieser letzten Rauhnacht vorbei.Der Percht kontrolliert das Haus auf Sauberkeit – ganz im Sinne der Frau Perchta-Sage – und darf, während er sein Gesicht noch verborgen hält, kein Wort sprechen. |
