Description
Deutsch: Tierfigur "Bär" von Rudolf Siemering, Bronze, Drittguss 2019/2020. Der Erstguss gehört zu einer Gruppe von acht lebensgroßen Tierfiguren, die für das Washington-Denkmal in Philadelphia geschaffen wurden. Zweitgüsse aller acht Tierfiguren wurden 1898 erstellt und Ende 1900 am Floraplatz im Großen Tiergarten in Berlin aufgestellt. Infolge des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurden die acht Tierfiguren zum Teil stark beschädigt, zwei Tierfiguren "Bär" und "Stier" gingen gänzlich verloren. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurden die sechs zum Teil beschädigten Tierfiguren an verschiedenen Plätzen aufgestellt. Die Skulpturengießerei Knaak hat in den Jahren 2019 und 2020 die sechs erhaltenen Tierfiguren umfangreich restauriert und die zwei verschollenen nachgegossen. Vorlage für diese Arbeiten waren die Erstgüsse am Washington-Denkmal. Im Jahre 2020 wurden alle acht Tierfiguren an ihrem ursprünglichen Standort am Floraplatz aufgestellt.
