[edit]DescriptionAviators inducted into Order of St. Michael DVIDS72893.jpg |
English: In a ceremony held in the Al Faw Palace, Camp Victory, Iraq, on Jan. 14, Maj. Gen. James E. Simmons, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, deputy commanding general for support presented Maj. Allen G. Hahn, Multi-National Corps-Iraq, C3 Aviation Operations Officer, with the Order of St. Michael Medallion (bronze). The award history states that St. Michael is referred to in Biblical writings as an archangel who wages war against evil. He is known as the heavenly prince or champion, charged specifically to guard and defend others. The legendary image of St. Michael defeating the dragon exemplifies the bravery and gallantry that we associate with the aviation Soldiers. |
