Description
English: ....this originally bread board or plank is decorated with symbolicized flower signs which are arranged in a centric geometrical pattern of two layers. The style is a country side one and the title of this kind of decoration is Hindeloopen, from the Frisian province in Holland, but its origins go back into mediaeval decorative art. The modern explanation of this style is it is one of the decorative ornamental folk arts like those were additional to the little though not unimportant court of the Frysk branch of the Orange-Nassau family which came to stadholder quality at the end of the 17th century in Holland and Friesland. Much alike the decorative style was introduced to the Dutch folk art originals.

the background color is most of the time dark green, sometimes white or blue, and the flower decorations are in red, yellow and blue, with sometimes a line of white added. The main ornamental style is Rococco.
