Description

Miniatura de Autorretrato de Bernardo O’Higgins. Reproducción directo del original, ca. 1820. Medidas: 14 x 12 cm

Esta miniatura fue entregada al Museo junto con otra de su hermana Rosa quien aparece con esta miniatura en la mano y también fue realizada por O’Higgins. Ingresa a la Colección del Museo del Carmen de Maipú, el año 1972 por legado del Sr. Carl Schaible.

Bernardo O’Higgins estudió música y pintura en Inglaterra, por lo que había desarrollado ciertas habilidades que al menos se reflejan en su propio autorretrato.

El Director del Museo del Carmen, Germán Domínguez, facilitó la exposición de este patrimonio nacional que se encuentra en exhibición en el Museo del Carmen del templo Votivo de Maipú.
