Description The original drawing of the Coat of Arms of Australia, the official symbol of Australia. The initial coat of arms was granted by King Edward VII on May 7 1908, and this version, shown here, was granted by King George V on September 19 1912. This page was sent to the Prime Minister of Australia's department with the following note: His Excellency the Governor General directs the publication, for general information, of the enclosed certified copy of the Royal Warrant granting Armorial Ensigns and Supporters to the Commonwealth of Australia. Andrew Fisher, Prime Minister.
Date The arms were granted in 1912. The page bearing the note is dated January 18 1913.
