Lith.Anst F. Reichtwld, Miiiichen. SY3IPT0MS. 195 A special group of the paroophoritic aclenomyomata ismade up of the voluminous juxta-uterine and subserousvarieties; for both, although they pass diffusely into theuterine muscularis, may be isolated from it (Landau);they may separate themselves spontaneously and be foundas solitary tumors in the broad ligaments. Isolated glandular and cystic deposits are found in his-toid myomata as accidental embryonic displacements of theepithelium, or analogous to the frequent combination ofsubmucous myomata and mollusca of the neighboringendometrium (Virchow), since the enveloping endometriumof submucous and polypoid myomata sometimes passesinto the muscular tissue in a striated manner. Symptoms.—As can be deduced from the foregoingstatements, these tumors throughout can be looked uponas absolutely benign only as long as they are small.Their earliest possible diagnosis and removal is conse-quently of the greatest importance. Initial Symptoms.—
