Nederlands: In 1659 voltooide de architect Pieter Post (1608-1669) de bouw van het stadhuis van Maastricht. Met een opdracht door Post aan het stadsbestuur van Maastricht. Deze prent vormt de eerste van een reeks architectuurtekeningen die door Post en de graveur Jan Mathijs van het bouwwerk werden vervaardigd. Deze serie werd in 1664 door Frederik de Wit (1630-1706) in Amsterdam uitgegeven.
English: The new town hall of Maastricht by architect Pieter Post (1608-1669) was finished in 1659. This print was the first in a series architectural drawings of the monumental building designed by Post and engraver Jan Mathijs. This series was published in Amsterdam in 1664 by Frederik de Wit (1630-1706).
