Description

English: This map of the fortress Crevecoeur near the city of 's-Hertogenbosch was published in the Town Books of the Netherlands by Joan Blaeu (1596-1673) in 1649. As many maps of

fortresses in this atlas - maybe for reasons of secrecy because they were ordered to be used in the Eighty Years War - only the outlines of the fortifications are represented. The area inside the walls is almost never

drawn in detail.
