Description

Aspicilia caesiocinerea (Nyl. ex Malbr.) Arnold, 1886

Photograph of a herbarium specimen taken through a dissecting microscope, x40.   Note the Lecanorine apothecium with a margin similar to the thallus, and containing algae.

This collection of Aspicilia caesiocinerea was growing on a rock near the water on the east side of Liberty Reservoir (Trail head on Deer Park Road) in Carroll County, Maryland, USA.
