THE ETERNAL \\AR AGAINST ) National Geographic Society FLYCATCHERS ARE VALUABLE ALLIES Fortunate is the farmer whose orchards or groves shelter'the Great Crested Flycatcher (upper left), as it eats prodigious numbers of weevils, beetles, and other crop destroyers. This bird has the mystifying habit of weaving a snake's skin into its nest. Its four companions are westerners. The Ash-throated Flycatcher (upper right) lives in the Far West, the Oliva- CEors and Sulphur-bellied (center, left and right) in the mountains of Arizona, and the large Derby Flycatcher (bottom) in the lower Rio Grande Valley.
