Notes Arthois become famous for the panoramic views, alred in his own life. Compared to the Flemish landscape painters of the late mannerist period, who painted the landscapes influenced by Alpine nautre, arthois focused on rendering the sylvan countryside in Brabant. The decorative character of the paintings in given by Arthois' excellent work with detail, effective lighting and suitable inclusion of figurative staffage. The artist has managed to create an atmosphere of a convincing view of the forest with lush vegetation and a smaller lake.
