Daar hy was zoo dor als stroo.

Wis'ling meld de Wisselingen

Van den tyd, en 't lot der dingen: (86)De Winter Hist. Sch. van Antw. (87)Jan Teyler. (88)zie 71. (89)een Duitser. In de Bent hadden zy hem Ezel gedoopt, maar hier over te onvrede, zeide hy: dat hy dus gebynaamt niet in zyn land zou durven komen, en presenteerde aan de Bentvogels eenig geld om voor te drinken; des zy hem eene andere benaminge zouden geven, 't geen zy aannamen en noemden hem uit potsery den Gouden Ezel. (90)Barent Appelman. (91)De naam van dezen is my onbekent. Korn. v. Ryssen te Rome zynde heeft hem (na 't my toeschynt) helpen inhuldigen en dit daar op gemaakt:

Jn alles wat 'er leeft is altyd min van nooden,

Door min bestaat het al, door min leest alle ding,

Alleen niet op der aard, maar zelf ook by de Goden,

Ja zo 't de min niet deed, de Waereld die verging.

Wy, die ons Roomse Bent, volmaakt te wezen roemen,

U hier met d'eernaam van ons minnegootje noemen,

Of anders Kupido, by kleen en groot bekent.
