Longdendale in Derbyshire is the valley of the River Etherow. The Longdendale Chain is a series of reservoirs built to provide drinking water forManchester. Arnfield Reservoir is the lowest reservoir in the chain taking water from (Rhodeswood Reservoir till 1960), the Arnfield Brook and the Ogden Brook.
