[edit]DescriptionAres Vallis Tributary - False Color (PIA23596).jpg |
English: This false color image shows a tributary channel that empties into the main Ares Vallis channel. This tributary channel is located east of Ares Vallis. Located in Margaritifer Terra, Ares Vallis is part of a large system of channels that arise from Vallis Marineris and empty into Chryse Planitia. The THEMIS VIS camera contains 5 filters. The data from different filters can be combined in multiple ways to create a false color image. These false color images may reveal subtle variations of the surface not easily identified in a single band image.
