Merknad: Fra Byantikvarens lysbildesamling. Bildene er tatt av Johan Alme (1909 - 1995) og er donert til Trondheim kommune av Tore Sørung. Johan Alme var butikksjef hos Kjeldsberg i Olav Tryggvasons gate og senere bestyrer i forretningskjeden Easy A/S. Bildene er merket Trondheim 1954 - 1968.

Archidiakoni plass fikk sitt navn i 1953 og er populært kalt Rådhusplassen; på eldre kart også kalt Erkedegnens plass. Den er oppkalt etter erkedegnembetet ved domkapitlet, ettersom erkedegnen hadde sin kannikgård i dette området.
