Summary

[edit]
Description

Twenty five years ago I bought a pile of 50 Lloyd press photos from another collector.

The Arabella came in 1959 and had four cylinders. Should have been the right move as people were wanting larger cars in Germany. The old two cylinder Lloyd sales were falling as it cost nearly as much as a Volkswagen. Unfortunately, parent Borgward spent too much money on a new large car to compete with Mercedes Benz. That was too hard a market to crack and bankers drove the firm out of business.
