Summary
[edit]DescriptionApproaching the eastern end of The Kaims esker - geograph.org.uk - 1596491.jpg |
English: Approaching the eastern end of The Kaims esker Boggy ground to be crossed before reaching the strange 4km long esker or kaim that winds like an ancient rampart across the bleak flat moorland at the southern extremity of the Lammermuir Hills. The feature is a remnant streambed of a glacial melt-water river that left its mark as a line of pebbles and gravel standing above the current level of the moorland. |
