(b. 1597, Bruxelles, d. 1643, Livorno) Apollo and Cupid 1635-40 Bronze, light brown lacquer patina, height 66 cm Liechtenstein Museum, Vienna The statue has a companion-piece, Mercury. Both statues were conceived as dialogue between a god and Cupid. (Originally a figure of Cupid also set at the feet of Mercury.)
