Description
Español: Estatua de Afrodita en mármol de Paros. La obra de Praxíteles sirvió de inspiración para numerosas copias y variantes. En esta versión a tamaño reducido, los brazos fueron restaurados por el escultor inglés Joseph Nollekens a finales del siglo XVIII. Un leve resalte en la barbilla apunta a que, en el original, la diosa alzaba la mano tocándose el rostro con los dedos. Época romana, versión de un original griego del siglo IV a. C., procedente de Ostia, Italia. Dimensiones. 1070 mm x 330 mm x 350 mm. GR 1805,0703.16 (escultura 1577). Pertenece a la exposición La belleza del cuerpo, en el MARQ. Forma parte de la exposición permanente del Museo Británico.
