Summary
[edit]DescriptionAntonov An-12 RA-12984 at Ostend 1995.jpg |
English: The start of an unpleasant 2-week trip to Kinshasa, Zaire in 1995, with a departure from Ostend.
Antonov An-12BK RA-12984 (c/n 0034 7109, built in 1970). It had been at Ostend for some days wearing the titles "The Atlantic Airlines" but nobody seemed to know anything about it. Atlantic Airlines was Gambian, but the EU banned them and they shut down. It later became ER-ADG and in 2007 was acquired by Transliz Aviation, UAE as S9-KHF, who used it for charters into Afghanistan (for one side or the other, or both) in 2008. Seen intact (just) in Chisinau in 2012 but since scrapped. Photo: Dick Gilbert, Ostend 28 July 1995. |
