Summary

[edit]
Description

The An-10 was an airliner developed from the twin engined An-8. Named 'Ukrainia' by the manufacturer, it's NATO code name was 'Cat'. The type was withdrawn from Aeroflot service in 1972 following a fatal accident which was found to be due to fatigue cracks in the wings. After a further couple of years flying for the VVS, the type was grounded and this example came to Monino. The An-12 cargo aircraft was developed from this type. Sadly, the museums An-10 is parked behind some of the other transport aircraft, which makes it difficult to get a clear shot. Here, it is framed by the museums An-24 and An-22. c/n 0402406. On display outside at the Russian Air Force Museum. Monino, Russia.
