Description
Deutsch: Anton Nissen: Das Seegefecht von Eckernförde, Gouache/Papier auf Leinwand, Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesbibliothek Kiel Beschreibung: Langestrecktes Panoramabild des Seegefechts von Eckernförde am 5. April 1849, angefertigt von A. Nissen (?). Im Zentrum des Bildes steht das explodierende dänische Linienschiff "Christian VIII", sowie die qualmende "Gefion" mit kaputten Segeln. Im Hintergrund liegen weitere dänische Schiffe. Links und rechts im Bild am Ufer Artilleristentrupps, die auf die in der Bucht liegenden Schiffe feuern. Verschiedene Ereignisse des Tages werden parallel dargestellt: Feuer der Strandbatterien, Explosion des Linienschifes "Christian VIII", Rettung der schiffbrüchigen Mannschaften von beiden Schiffen, der dänische Kommandeur Paludan überreicht den Degen an Offiziere der Bundestruppen. Links im Bild ein von den Kämpfen stark zerstörtes weißes Haus. Felsbrocken und Bäume am rechten Bildrand. Es handelt sich um eine idealisierte Darstellung, die nicht historisch korrekt ist.
