A fewwords about the appearance may therefore not be out of place : Immediately after exposure—therefore in wet condition—the unex-posed parts have a faint yellow coloration. Later on they will changeto a dark red. Formerly I was of the opinion that the light was thecause of it by reason of the decomposition of the bromide of silver, which can never be completely removed by fixing, but in fact it isonly a consequence of the drying of the film.
