English: Antara Deb Sen was born in Kolkata in 1963 and studied at Jadavpur University, Smith College, Massachusetts, and at Harvard University. She is a columnist, literary critic and translator. Deb Sen began her journalistic career with Sunday magazine in Kolkata. She then joined the Hindustan Times, after which she went to Oxford University on a fellowship from the Reuters Foundation. On returning to India, she started The Little Magazine. She also writes for Open Democracy and is an advisor for Words Without Borders. She has also written India, the Eternal Magic (2002). She is a commentator on media, society, politics, culture and development, and has written for The Deccan Chronicle, The Week, DNA, Free Press Journal, among other publications. She is the daughter of Amartya Sen and Nabaneeta Deb Sen.
This shot was taken during the annual 'Kolkata Literary Meet 2013' was a part of the 'International Kolkata Book Fair 2013' held at the Milan Mela ground. It is a five day talk and interaction with general public of renowned persons from India and abroad. |
