"Qu'est-ce que nous sommes ?" : une des six vitrines d'Anselm Kiefer au Panthéon Oeuvre d'Anselm Kiefer 2020 298 x 400 x 230 cm Verre, bois, cuivre, argile, racines, métal, plomb, fusain, cendre, plâtre sur tissu, acrylique, vitrine en verre et acier. Inscriptions : textes de Maurice Genevoix, ouvrage "Ceux de 14" À l’occasion de l’entrée au Panthéon de Maurice Genevoix et de l’hommage à "Ceux de 14" le 11 novembre 2020, M. Emmanuel Macron, Président de la République, a ordonné une commande publique à l’artiste plasticien Anselm Kiefer et au compositeur Pascal Dusapin. Les œuvres réalisées dans le cadre de cette commande intègrent, de manière pérenne, le parcours de visite du Panthéon. Beaucoup trop grandes pour l'espace environnant et partiellement transparentes (une sur deux dispose d'un fond opaque), ces vitrines imposent aux visiteurs l'univers formel d'Anselm Kiefer en empêchant de voir les peintures qui ont été conçues à la fin du 19è siècle pour honorer Sainte Geneviève, Jeanne d'Arc, Clovis, Charlemagne ou encore Saint Denis. Même si Anselm Kiefer est un des artistes majeurs de notre époque, on ne peut admettre que son intervention ignore à ce point l'histoire de ce batiment et que sa vision personnelle de la guerre de 1914-1918 y soit aussi prégnante. |
