English: Anoxia is a sculptural group created in 2022 by the students of the IES Isaac Peral in Cartagena (Spain) under the direction of the drawing teacher María Pilar López Salas. The work, which uses recycled materials, represents the agony of several fish and seahorses during the anoxia episode that affected the Mar Menor in 2019, and which resulted in the death by suffocation of thousands of organisms that inhabited it due to spills of nitrates from intensive farming.
