ke sum from the funds of the United States Geo-logical Survey. The work was prosecuted under ahagreement signed March 15, 1904. Under the generalsupervision of Mr. C. E. Cooke, topographer in charge ofsection, three parties were at work in thirteen quadran-gles. The mapping of the Sebree and Sutherland quad-rangles was completed, and progress was made on theFrankfort and Georgetown quadrangles, all for publica-tion on the scale of 1:62,500, with a contour interval of 20feet. Corrections were made of the Calhoun, Newburg,and Owensboro ,sheets, publication scale 1:62,500, con-tour interval 20 feet; and of the Harrodsburg sheet, pub-lication scale 1:125,000, contour interval 50 feet. Somerevision was done of the work of the previous season onthe Hagan, Harlan, Log Mountain, Middlesboro, andPineville sheets, scale 1: 62,500, contour interval 20 feet.In addition to the areas reported below, 35 square mileswere mapped as overrun on edges of adjacent quadrangles.
