Description
Nederlands: In 1886 werd het beeld van Barbara Uthmann van de hand van de Dresdener beeldhouwer Eduard Robert Henze op de markt van Annaberg onthuld.. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het bronzen standbeeld voor de oorlogsproductie omgesmolten. Na twee enquêtes werd in 1998 besloten een nieuw beeld op te richten. De replica van Henzes beeld werd op 2 oktober 2002 onthuld.
Deutsch: 1886 schuf der Dresdner Bildhauer Eduard Robert Henze für Annaberg eine Statue der Barbara Uthmann. Am 30. Juli 1942 wurde die Bronzefigur zum Zwecke der Rüstungsproduktion im Zweiten Weltkrieg eingeschmolzen. Am 12. November 1998 wurde nach zwei Umfragen beschlossen, das Barbara-Uthmann-Denkmal neu zu errichten. Nach 10-jähriger Spendensammlung konnte ein Nachbau des Henze-Denkmals am 2. Oktober 2002 auf dem Markt von Annaberg-Buchholz enthüllt werden.
English: In 1886 the statue of Barbara Uthmann by the Dresden sculptor Eduard Robert Henze was unveiled on Annaberg's market square. The bronze statue was melted for the war production during the Second World War. After a survey it was decided in 1998 to re-erect the statue. The replica of Henze's statue was unveiled on 2 October 2002.
