English: 500px provided description: I booked a stay in Kruger National Park for about two weeks and drove from Skukuza to Satara when I suddenly saw a lot of cars in the road. I instantly knew it must be lions cause they have been seen in the area before. But to get any chance for a good shot you have to be in a good position and avoid all the cars. I looked at this male lion's behavior, his line of direction and tried to sum up where a predator like him would go in order to place myself far away from any cars but still get shot of his bloody beard and a head-on death stare. 300 meters past the people I found the spot, turned the car around, opened the window, switched off the car and waited. Truth be told he followed the exact line I hoped and kept doing so until he stood right next to my car, luckily next to one of the closed windows (since my car has electric windows that does not close while the engine is switched off – bummer, but I didn't want to cause noise). I drive a 4x4 and this male was so large that his shoulders could be seen above the bottom of the cars window, an amazing animal who obviously had a good bloody meal just moments before. African nature and wildlife on its savanna plains will always enchant me and I'm happy to call it my birthplace and home.
