Anglo Saxon sleeve Clasp
Description
English: A complete cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon sleeve clasp. The hook-piece is of Hines’s Form B20 (plate and bar cast in one). The bar is divided into three rectangular panels with three transverse grooves in between each panel. The plate is slightly lower, and consists of two rounded lugs at each end. In the centre of each lug is a circular sewing hole. In between the two rounded lugs is a pointed lug. The reverse of the clasp has an incomplete hook on the bar edge. The length is 30.3mm, the width is 13.1mm and the weight is 4.49g.
