Anglo Saxon Disc Brooch
Description
English: A fragment of a copper alloy disc brooch dating to the Anglo Saxon period. The fragment is roughly half of the disc with broken edges. Its front face is decorated with three ring and dot motifs which are placed around the perimeter. The reverse of the object has a double hinge present, dating the object to the 5th century. The object is green in colour and there are areas of colour on both the front and back. It weighs 3.8g, measuring 25.93mm in diameter and 1.83mm in thickness.
