This is believed to be the oldest living 'Live Oak' today in the world. It is estimated to be over 1400 years old and is protected as a national 2000 Millennium Tree and a South Carolina Heritage Tree. It is 65 feet tall and had a circumference of over 25 feet. It shades an area over 17,00 square feet and it's largest limb is over 11 feet in circumference. The tree is on the coast near Wadmalaw Island and has a school and road named in it's honor. |
