Description

Anemone Cave at Acadia National Park, ME The location of this now abandoned site is easy to locate, from Bar Harbor Maine drive toward Otter Creek along route 3 and turn onto the Schooner Head Road just before Jackson Lab. Follow the Schooner Head Road until you come to a four way intersection and turn left into the Schooner Head Overlook parking area. Follow a narrow paved path down through the woods - when the path reaches the cliff you are standing on the roof of the cave. Just to the right there is a way down to the mouth of the ancient sea cave which can only be entered and explored at low tide. The floor of the cave can be extremely slippery so wear good footing.
