Cet entrepôt commercial fut un lieu d'entreposage de denrée ( café notamment) dans la ville. L'intérieur du bâtiment ( piliers et plafond) est réalisé en acier de fonte importé d'Europe, au début du 20 ème siècle. Il constitue l'un des éléments du patrimoine bâti de la ville, dont l'entretien demeure remarquable.
