for women. Location: 12, place of synagogue Worms, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Deutsch: Außenansicht des Synagogenkomplexes am Synagogenplatz 12, Worms. Der Blick fällt auf einen ursprünglich um 1212/13 errichteten Anbau, der der geosteten, zweischiffigen Halle der eigentlichen Synagoge vorgelagert ist. Der Hauptraum des Anbaus ist eine eingewölbte Halle im Erdgeschoss, die bis zu den Verwüstungen und dem Niederbrennen in der NS-Zeit den Frauen als Betsaal diente. Der kleine Saal ist heute ohne Bestuhlung und dient als schlichter Andachtsraum zum Gedenken an die Ofer der Shoa. |
