Description

We were out late in the countryside on a terrible dirt road trying to check the harriers roosting. When we started back, we sighted more than 6 Nightjars which settled onto the dirt road after the sunset. As the vehicle approached they would fly away and settle back again. For one of these, we stopped to get a few shots in the total darkness and the bird was just frozen by the vehicle lights. My friends went 5 feet close, and the bird was ok. With my long lens, I had to maintain 12-14 feet.

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
