English: Spc. Jered Clifton, from Enfield, Mass., is an individual ready reserve Soldier who was called up to active duty for deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in August 2008. In March, Spc. Clifton met up with the 1161st Transportation Co., a National Guard unit from Washington State, at their mobilization station at Camp Atterbury, Ind. He was assigned to 1st Platoon at Victory Base Complex, separate from the main body who headed to Camp Taji. Clifton has been a Motor Transport Operator his entire military career and is currently hauling cargo and making water deliveries with his M915A4 tractor and M872 trailer. Clifton recently re-enlisted for an additional six years in the Reserves. He will continue his Military Occupation Specialty after this deployment with the 304th Trans. Co., located in Springfield, Mass. Since taking over motor pool operations in June, Spc. Clifton has logged more than 1,150 miles just on VBC hauling water pallets and other cargo. First Platoon of the 1161st Trans. Co. is proud of the experience and dedication to the mission of Spc. Clifton. |
