Description

The Tammany tiger and Charles Murphy stand outside in the cold, looking into the New York Bakery, where a pie labelled $100,000,000 yearly, and a cake labelled New York Finances $100,000,000 sit. The tiger has a copy of Woodrow Wilson's Thanksgiving proclamation in his back pocket. According to the New York Times, Murphy was the boss of Tammany Hall, and they had suffered severe defeats in the 1913 elections, cutting off much of their funding from corruption.
