Description: Elle représente la Morue franche comme elle est en vie en sortant de l'eau, & des détails anatomiques sur quelques-unes de ses parties intérieures. Fig. 1. La Morue franche; X, la bouche ; F, le barbillon du menton; a b, la longueur de la tête; M N O, les trois ailerons du dos; R S, les deux ailerons de derrière l'anus; e p d, l'aileron de la queue; T, une nageoire de derrière les ouies; V, une nageoire de dessus la gorge ; Q , l'anus. Fig. 2. Elle représente la mâchoire décharnée & ouverte, pour faire voir les dents qui tiennent aux mâchoires, & aussi la langue. Fig. 3. Elle est destinée à faire voir des osselets ou cartilages durs L L K K, qui sont chargés d'aspérités; H, l'ouverture du gosier. Fig. 4. Elle représente une petite partie des branchies que les Pêcheurs appellent les Guignes. Fig. 4. Un bout d'intestin ouvert pour faire voir des glandes qui sont attachées au velouté; F, la valvule intestinale ; G, le rectum. Fig. 6; A A, la vessie pneumatique qui est accompagnée de muscles B B, & de deux appendices C C qui l'attachent par en-haut. Fig. 7. Elle est deftinée à faire voir une chair glanduleuse D, qui est attachée en dedans de la vessie pneumatique.
