Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Amur (Heilongjiang) and Ussuri (Wusuli) Rivers near their confluence. Looking roughly north-north-west. The Ussuri runs from the left to the right in the lower part of the photo; the Amur runs from the upper left to center right. Between the two big rivers are, from the left to the right, the Chinese mainland (Fuyuan County; left); the Yinlong Island (Tarabarov Island; a small island near the Amur, just above the center of the picture); the Bolshoy Ussuriysky (Heixiazi) Island (runs from the center of the picture to the right edge of the frame). The new China-Russia border across the Bolshoy Ussuriysky (Heixiazi) Island runs roughly through the center of the picture. It apparently is visible on the photo as a diagonal line - I assume there is a clearing through the vegetation, and some kind of a road for the border patrol to walk on.
