Description
English: Waag on Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam (historical weigh house on the new market square). Originally built in 1488, the building now hosts the cafe-restaurant In De Waag. The bench at the forefront is engraved with the arms of Amsterdam. The three crosses represent the three dangers of Amsterdam : water, diseases and fire.
