Title
Ampulla
Description
English: Near complete lead ampulla of Medieval date, probably dating from the 14th or 15th century. The obverse is decorated with a lozenge design divided into eight triangles by a cross and two diagonals. The exterior of the lozenge is decorated with a hatched pattern. The reverse has a wide cross within a shield. The body is separated from the closed neck by two parallel lines on each face. Both the loops at the base of the neck are missing, the base of one of the loops has a rounded protrusion of uncertain function. The ampulla has suffered some damage to the top of the neck.
