Description

Oropos, Amphiareion. Inscribed base of a statue of Marcus Agrippa, signed by the artist Metiochos (last quarter of the 1st century BC). Below the inscription honoring Agrippa and the artist's signature is a decree concerning sacrifices to Apollo Ptoios in Boeotia (c. AD 228–226).
