Summary

[edit]
Description

The Marble Church (formally Frederik’s Church) was completed in 1894 using limestone instead of the marble originally envisioned. In between the church and the harbor is Amalienborg Palace which consists of four identical mansions completed in 1760 surrounding a courtyard with an equestrian statue of King Frederick V in the center (blocked from view by the fountain). Members of the royal family live in the mansions. The waterfront garden with the fountain was established in 1983.
