| Description |
English: The fresco on the ceiling of the Greek Catholic Cathedral of Hajdúdorog, Hungary. There're three panels on the cathedral's ceiling that have large frescos in Byzantian style.
This is placed close to the main altar of the cathedral and the iconostasis. It depicts three scenes connected to the Jesus Christ: On the left side of the picture there's the scene of the Transfiguration of Jesus. In the middle you can see a large picture of Jesus holding a book which cites a line from the Book of John (8:12): "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness." Behind Jesus there're the symbols of the four Evangelists. On the right side you can see the scene of Jesus' resurrection. The fresco was painted by László Puskás and his wife who were taught in Lviv, Ukraine with casein paint. The fresco was sanctificated by Szilárd Keresztes, bishop of Hajdúdorog in November 1990.Magyar: A kép a hajdúdorogi görög katolikus székesegyház boltozatának freskóját mutatja. A székesegyház boltozatát három bizánci stílusú falfestmény borítja, amelyek közül ez a freskó az oltár felőli freskó, közvetlenül az ikonosztáz mellett.
A freskó három Jézushoz kötődő jelenetet ábrázol: A kép bal oldalán látható Jézus színeváltozásának jelenete. Középen egy nagy kép látható Jézus Krisztusról, kezében egy könyvvel, amelyen János könyvének egy idézete olvasható (8:12): "Én vagyok a világ világossága. Aki engem követ, nem jár sötétségben." Krisztus mögött a négy evangélista szimbólumai láthatók. A jobb oldalon van Jézus feltámadásának jelenete. A falfestményt Puskás László és felesége készítették kazeines-olajos technikával. A házaspár az ukrajnai Lvivben (Lembergben) tanult. A falfestményt 1990 novemberében Keresztes Szilárd hajdúdorogi püspök szentelte fel. |
