Die Alltagsmenschen kommen nach Meppen. Vom 12. Juli bis zum 11. Oktober wächst die Einwohnerzahl unserer Stadt vorübergehend: Mit der Ausstellung „Alltagsmenschen“ von Christel und Laura Lechner ziehen 41 Figuren, die auf den ersten Blick wie reale Personen wirken, in das Stadtgebiet ein.

An insgesamt zehn Standorten sind sie zu sehen. Das größte Ensemble wird direkt am Brunnen auf dem Marktplatz stehen - hier findet eine Polonaise von insgesamt 18 Figuren für drei Monate ihr Zuhause. Weiter der lebensgroßen Skulpturen - auch Lechner-Skulpturen genannt – werden im gesamten Bereich der Fußgängerzone sowie am Ufer des Dortmund-Ems-Kanals aufgestellt. Sie bestehen übrigens aus Beton und bringen pro Skulptur ungefähr 80 bis 150 Kilogramm auf die Waage. Ihre besondere Lebendigkeit erhalten die Figuren durch die eingesetzten mineralischen Farben.

Das Projekt wird zu 90 % gefördert durch das Sofortprogramm "Perspektive Innenstadt". Die Ausstellung dient der Belebung der Innenstadt und soll Kunst im öffentlichen Raum für jedermann erlebbar machen. Quelle: https://www.meppen.de/portal/seiten/alltagsmenschen-meppen-900000564-24701.html
