DescriptionAllen Institute for Brain Science Building detail 04.jpg |
English: Allen Institute for Brain Science Building, Seattle, Washington, U.S. The building incorporates elements of the Ford McKay Building (Warren H. Milner, 1922) and Pacific McKay Building (Harlan Thomas and Clyde Grainger, 1925); this picture shows part of the incorporated elements of the Pacific McKay Building at the corner of Mercer & Westlake. One of the last remnants of Seattle's former "auto row", the exteriors of these buildings were given city landmark status in 2007; the terracotta was stripped, certain interior elements were salvaged and the buildings were demolished in 2009. Those stripped and salvaged elements were integrated into the Allen Institute for Brain Science Building (completed 2015). |
